Part-Time Assistant Teacher Glen Park Montessori School
Glen Park Montessori has an immediate opening for a full-time assistant teacher in our mixed age preschool classroom with children aged 3 to 5. We are looking for a warm, caring, and creative individual who loves working with young children and would enjoy co-creating an afternoon program based on creativity, exploration and fun!. We are a year-round school.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Lead Montessori teacher
- Insuring the health and safety of all our children all the times
- Prepare snack,
- Play yard guidance
- Prepare the classroom for the afternoon and ensuring a clean and orderly classroom at days’ end.
- Help develop curriculum and offer materials to expand their imagination and creativity.
- Guiding children towards behavior, language and action to sustain a peaceful classroom, insuring respect for each other and the environment.
- Meeting the needs of each child to honor their unique individuality, interests, and curiosity
Qualifications / experience - Two or more years of classroom experience working with young children.
- Clear and open communication
- Timeliness and professionalism
- Great sense of humor
- Helpful if: you have musical talent, movement expertise (dance/yoga?), or other enrichment talent/ interest
Requirements
- 12 ECE units required to work in a preschool setting set by the state of California.
- Current negative TB test,
- Fingerprint clearance
- Current first aid, CPR training
- Transcripts from academic work
- Two recent references
